The next day he sees a girl standing in the window of an abandoned house. He figures that the girl must be a ghost, which he discovers is true when he goes there and meets her. She convinces him to dig up her grave and take her diary out of the casket. Thus is set in motion a series of events that brings young Frankie in conflict with his parents, the cops, his best friend, and a few other people along the way.
He learns a lot about himself and others, and what wine goes best with a little crow.
